Safety

At Yakushima Nature, safety is our highest priority.

Weather, trail, road, and river conditions can change quickly in Yakushima. What we can safely offer may also depend on each guest’s physical condition and equipment.

Based on the conditions on the day, your guide may change the route, location, or content of the tour.

When this happens, we will prioritize safety and suggest an alternative plan that allows you to enjoy the best possible experience of Yakushima that day.

Prices

Payment

Your booking is confirmed once a 20% booking and preparation fee has been paid.

The remaining balance must be paid 30 days before the tour date by bank transfer or credit card.

For bookings made less than 30 days before the tour date, full payment is required at the time of booking.

The 20% booking and preparation fee covers advance communication, planning, and securing your tour date, and is non-refundable.

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel your booking for personal reasons, the following cancellation fees apply:

Booking confirmation – 30 days before: 20% of the tour fee
29–20 days before: 50% of the tour fee
19 days before – tour date: 100% of the tour fee

Typhoons, Earthquakes & Other Circumstances Beyond Our Control

If the tour cannot take place, or if you are unable to reach Yakushima, due to a typhoon, earthquake, other natural disaster, transportation cancellation, or other circumstances beyond the control of both you and Yakushima Nature, we will respond on a case-by-case basis.

Any refund and the amount refunded will be discussed and handled individually based on the circumstances.

To prepare for such unexpected events, we strongly recommend travel insurance that covers trip cancellation or interruption, as well as prepaid tours and activities.
